With social media and current marketing trends it is becoming increasingly difficult to identify "insiders" and "outsiders" in an organization. This new and changing climate provides opportunity for brand ambassadors, and puts companies in a position where they hope their organization is put in good standing on social media sites, message boards, and on blogs. Ensuring that your employees are engaged at work creates a likely environment that they will become positive brand ambassadors in online public spaces, and in turn engage consumers.
Here are some tips from a PR Web article on how to engage your employees to become positive brand representatives and teach them how to drive the consumer brand experience.

  • Develop better relationships with employees- Employees who view their organization as an industry leader are 86% more likely to indicate satisfaction with their employer, and have positive things to say about the organization. Keeping employees engaged and incentivized by using spot rewards, such as small denomination gift cards is a great way to motivate employees on an ongoing basis.
  • Focus on the customer experience- 78% of employees who view their organization as an industry leader indicated that they used consumer feedback to improve products and processes. Keeping the consumer experience as the primary focus of organizational thinking is crucial to maintaining positive brand exposure.
  • Be committed to delivering the brand promise to customers- Focusing on consumer brand experience is a major factor in receiving positive public feedback, especially from employees. If employees perceive their organization to maintain its brand promise and message they will feel more connected to their work and the impact it has on them.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, and actively promote the company to others- Ensuring that employees will recommend the organization's product in both a professional and personal capacity is crucial. 85% of employees at industry leading organizations would personally promote their organization and its product.

How does your company maintain employee brand relationships? If this is not a top marketing priority for your organization now, it should be. Maintaining positive images in social and new media spaces is important to perpetuate innovation in marketing and brand image.
