Summer Employee Rewards

The infographic below shows different kinds of benefits employees look for specifically in the summer months. Most are pretty predictable, such as a relaxed dress code, and flexible schedules or the ability to leave early on Fridays. It is great to be able to reward hard work during the summer and provide some extra flexibility during the nice weather when kids are out of school and employees are looking to get away. It is equally important to communicate office do's and dont's, which go along with added summer privileges. Towards the bottom of the graphic there are some guidelines for how employees can remain responsible to their position and their organization while having some extra summer fun. It is important to further reward employees who abide by these rules, work hard and responsibly during a time of year when employees sometimes get distracted from responsibilities and can let certain things fall by the wayside. Using small rewards such as a restaurant gift card will allow employees to feel recognized by the organization in a quiet, appropriate way. As everyone gets itchy to leave the office, try to recognize the hard worker who stays at their desk until closing time and takes initiative when others are just trying to complete tasks and go home.
